"BUY A ROSE AND FEED A CHILD"

Around the world, 300 million children are victims of violence, exploitation and abuse of all kinds, and millions of other children who have not yet suffered this violence remain deprived of adequate protection. Protecting children from violence, exploitation and abuse is an integral part of protecting their rights to survival, growth and development. At the 42nd session of the Commission of the Committee on the Rights of the Child of the United Nations held in Geneva from May 15 to June 2, 2006, in its "concluding observations on Colombia", the widespread discrimination that exists against certain vulnerable groups, such as displaced children, Afro-Colombian and indigenous children, as well as children living in rural areas, is a growing concern. This situation is currently very serious, because children continue to be victims of torture and cruel and degrading treatment by leaders and members of illegal armed groups, state agents and even by members of the army who are also involved.

The recruitment of children, practiced on a large scale by these illegal armed groups for the purposes of combat, sexual slavery or through the use of children for intelligence purposes by the army, is worrying. The high number of children exposed to dangerous and/or degrading work such as agricultural work in coca plantations, work in mines, etc., who are also victims of all types of exploitation, remains too high, without taking into account the number of children persecuted by Colombian and Ecuadorian justice, who are already deprived of their freedom. Faced with this overwhelming reality and aware of the need to act quickly and seriously in favor of these children and vulnerable communities in Colombia and Ecuador, we seek to raise awareness today with the establishment of our project “Buy a rose and feed a child”. . society, hoping to awaken interest and present commitment and future to work for the eradication of all forms of abuse, torture or human exploitation, as well as the serious social consequences that they entail. AIM With our system of selling roses and exotic flowers, we want to support the financing of our long-term humanitarian program, with the aim of protecting and improving the quality of life of indigent children and elderly people in Colombia and Ecuador STRATEGY Collaborate closely with our private and social partners in the process of developing, planning and financing our program.

Consider in the near future creating a protective environment for these children (e.g. educational spaces, fun activities). Also establish an educational system in the form of course modules, in order to instill essential knowledge about health and nutrition. These will be provided by professionals in partnership with government institutions and NGOs. We will also prioritize parent education to prevent abuse within families. GOALS Help the most disadvantaged populations in the equatorial Amazon region. Create a movement of solidarity and encouragement with the aim of improving their quality of life and providing them with the means to fight against the increasing poverty and malnutrition in the country. It is important to highlight that one of the essential actors for solid and sustainable development is the protection and preservation of Nature and the Environment.
